Nothing in life is guarenteed.
In the past few weeks I've been saying this phrase so much that I probably sound like a broken record.
Your car. Your job. Your health. Your friends and family.
Your goals. Your dreams. … Your life in general.
Nothing. Nothing in life is guaranteed.
As humans we are constantly preparing for our future as if it's all a guarantee. Not to be a Debbie-Downer, but even everything you've worked so hard for isn't guaranteed to be around tomorrow let alone in a month or next year. We spend all this time preparing for our "future" when our future is now.
We need to live in the present, the now, the foreward.
Your car will break down. You may lose your job. You could get critically ill. Your friends and family will fade in and out of your life like they're passing through revolving doors. Your goals will change along with your dreams and life will be one hell of a rollercoaster ride that you probably didn't sign up for (or expect), but hey, nowhere on your birth certificate did it say life was going to be easy. You'll go from feeling like your on top of the world to what feels like you're breathing underwater.
The good news is that in the midst of all this inevitable reality is the little known fact that life is what you make of it, and that, IS a guarantee. You can choose your own path and choose be happy. Up until recently, I had forgotten this. I've been way too focused on everything that I felt like I should do or had to do rather than doing the things that I've really wanted to- the direction that my heart and soul truly tug towards.
So I say to you:
Live your life as you see fit. Ignore the rules that your friends live by. Ignore the rules that your family lives by. Ignore the rules that society says you should live by (without doing anything illegal of course).
Make your own rules and live your own life. No one is going to live it for you and at the end of the day,
the only person you have to answer to, is you.
So, are you okay with how you're living your life?
Because fact is, it'll go on whether you waste your day or use every minute of it.
"Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it.
The time will pass anyway." - Earl Nightingale.
So with that said, it's time I start living the life I've always dreamed of instead of just preaching about it.
It's time I start living up to my own expectations and my own standards.
I'd like to share that dream with you.
I'd like to share this journey with you.
I'd like to share my experiences with you.
And to start, I'd like to introduce you to the last year and a half of my life.
Welcome, to Good Vibrations.
I would like to take you on a journey, over the last year and a half of my life.
Through the struggles and the strides... The way I learned to swallow my pride.
I want to share my experiences with you not only through text, but through my art.
I want to show you what I felt with a visual representation along with an explanation.
Through loss and heartache, through adventures and self discovery.
Each piece has their own meaning... Each time my path on life silently redefined.
I would like to begin with,
