I've been drawing portraits for over 6 years and not only is it amazing to see my own progression, but the progression of my subjects as well. The feeling I get when presenting someone their portrait is unparalleled to any other feeling I get through art. Drawing a portrait of someone is the best way I know how to say thank you to them and honour their spirit. During the process of creating the portrait, it allows me to reflect on my relationship with that person and I think, in turn, allows them to also see themselves in a different light.

In December 2017 I participated in a local craftshow where I donated a portrait as a penny sale item - Elliott's mother, Cathy, won that item and sent me a picture of her son to draw. This was my first time drawing a child and I'm extremely happy with what I accomplished here- his shirt was definitely a challenge to overcome. Someone once told me that there is a special spirit in the eyes of a child, and the eyes are my favourite part of drawing a portrait. I truly believe that they are the windows to the soul.
Melynda & Luna
This is a random thank you to Melynda for always being uniquely you. You inspire me (and many others I'm sure) daily with your vibrant personality and beautiful soul. Know that you are appreciated and cared about. Never stop being you. I've never drawn an animal before, so she was a bit of a challenge, but I'm extremely happy with the way everything turned out. I hope you have a wonderful day. 💖
Jasmine Pearl is one of the most beautiful beings on this planet - inside & out - and if you've ever had the pleasure of knowing her, I'm sure you know what I mean. So because pictures are worth 1000 words, and 1000 words doesn't even come close to describing how magnificent this girl is, I decided to draw her instead.
Here's to you, Jasmine! You are a magical unicorn in a world full of ponies. You always know how to make me smile and quite simply, just get me.❤ I love you girl! ❤
